My recent projects have focused on documentary work. I am interested in examining everyday activities and materials and presenting them in an unexpected style. I have worked between B/W and colour in recent work and used harsher lighting that focused on the contrast in materials along with softer lighting techniques for larger interior environments. I have been using both film and digital and exploring alternative development processes for film. My current project work is focused on using large format cameras.

Wrappings

Wrappings' is a documentary project that focuses on discarded plastics. I was interested in examining waste materials with a specific focus on the textures created by damage and wear from exposure to the environment. Natural light was used throughout the project with certain plastics responding to harsher sunlight to create contrast and shapes in the material. This was combined with interior locations that utilised narrow light shafts and bounces for a softer effect and darker environments. I have been using both digital and film and experimenting with long exposures, alternative development processes and large format cameras.
