ToF

This project reflects on the effects as well as events that occur when living with the condition called Tetralogy of Fallot [ToF]. ToF is a congenital heart condition that affects the heart through four abnormalities, the two most serious being a hole in the septum, and a weak valve. An initial operation is needed shortly after birth that fixes the holes in the pulmonary valve and septum, though further down the line another open heart surgery is needed to replace the pulmonary valve.

Ejection

This video project follows the same theme and narrative that I had previously explored with the photo series. Following the theme of Tetralogy of Fallot, medical machinery such as MRI plays a large role in both diagnosing and monitoring the condition.

Where the photo series documents the events and experiences leading up to open heart surgery, this video intends to fill in the missing aspects that a visual experience of a photo series cannot not alone offer, by exploring both the aesthetic sounds and moving images found in modern medical imaging.
