I would consider myself a lens-based artist, although I ventured into documentary photography for my final project. I tend to explore concepts through research and experimentation, using processes such as collage, cutting, and rearranging prints to create my work.
We Are The Front Line
'We are the Frontline' is a documentary project undertaken during the lockdown. Working through video calls, I ‘screen grabbed’ portraits of frontline workers, and took their statements on working during the crisis:
"From the beginning of this pandemic we have stuck to the goal of 'prevent' and thus far it is working."
"If a prisoner was to contract Covid-19 it would spread like wildfire."
"Thankfully my family live close so a quick chat over the fence will have to do."
"There is no more chatting or banter it's a lot less craic. Everyone is a lot more cautious and stress levels are higher."
