Aimee Rose
Aimee Rose is a visual artist based in Dublin and Meath. Her practice focuses around themes of memory, loss and time using a combination of photography, text and archival images. She highlights the sense of loss experienced in certain sites or places, and the marks which people leave on the world, both in domestic space and in nature.
Displacement
Displacement is a work about movement that utilises contemplative images, family photographs and snippets of dialogue. It maps different journeys in multiple peoples’ lives in a non-linear way, bringing about a new story that combines them all together. This story suggests the search for self and identity, as well as taking a mournful look at the past. Drawing on the contemporary mindset that we must keep moving in order for life to have a purpose, Displacement is a photographic work about slowing down and simply taking in our surroundings.
