Aimee Rose
I am a visual artist based in Dublin. My practice focuses on themes of memory, loss and time, combining photography, text and archival images. I highlight a sense of loss in places, objects and nature and my work is influenced by the marks people leave on the world, both in domestic spaces and in nature.
How Did It Get So Late So Soon?
This is a series of still life images of objects which have been randomly placed in nature. These objects, most of which are obsolete, are supposed to have been placed here by individuals who are attempting to reverse environmental damage caused by humans. However, these items are detrimental to nature and in their manmade form provide a commentary on how our individual efforts to reverse the damage can often feel quite useless.
How did it get so late so soon?
It's night before it's afternoon.
December is here before it's June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?
