Tatjana Turcina

I have always been embarrassed by questions about who has influenced me. I know the work of many photographers, both historical and contemporary, but I'm not sure how I have been influenced by them. Of course, I have favourite photographers, such as Annie Leibovitz and Irving Penn, but I try not to let my interest in them directly steer my creative work.

Patrick Kavanagh. Commemoration

This series of photographs represents an allegory of the work and life of poet Patrick Kavanagh. I document an intimate journey through the streets of Dublin, focusing on places of significance such as Raglan Road, The Great Famine Memorial and the Grand Canal. Those familiar with the poet's work and his biography will be able to identify the series of photographs as a map of his life and poems in Dublin.
